An announcement

So, I am not sure I am completely ready to admit this to the whole world but Matt and I are expecting our third child in May. I am not quite ten weeks along so anything could still happen at this point. I am so nervous for that third child but I think we can handle it.

Cute story. I got out of the shower this morning and hear this converstation coming from my bed.

*Giggling* " I thought you were mommy, Clara." more giggling. " you thought I was mommy, that's funny (Clara). Ally..."you look.... you look cute in yours jammies Clara" Clara.... "you look cuter!!" *kiss kiss* Ally ...." I am wearing yours monkey pants Clara" *snuggle snuggle* ally..."you are warm Clara".

I love when they get along. Sometimes it just a big love fest and other days Clara is giggling her head off while Ally is screaming her head off. Clara is such a tease!!!! Drives me crazy. But I love the little fuzzy monkeys.

This picture has nothing to do with this post but I love it. We stood in line for over an hour to see the princesses and JJ was a champ for the whole thing. He wasn't too excited about the princesses until we got to Jasmine, then she got a BIG hug from him. What is it with boys and bare midriffs.

I need a bigger bed!

This morning, probably around 5:00 am, Ally woke up and all she wanted was to come to mommy's bed, so, being the parents with no convictions at 5 in the morning, we let her. Not ten minutes later, Clara come waddling in, sniffling and whimpering. "what's wrong sweetie?' I ask. " I had a bad dream, *sob sob*" . "oh, sweetie, what was the dream about?" I ask. "A mouse that was santa". she sobs. "OOH, that is scary, come on up!" Poor thing, for most it's clowns for my daughter it's mice dressed as santa. I guess I have successfully implanted my intense fear of mice into my daughter. So I ended up sleeping at the end of the bed like the family pet. Don't worry Matt snuggled my feet.

Italia Style

This post (and pizza margherita) is in dedication to Francesca , Sara and Cera Una Volta.

I love the fall with it's fresh tomatoes and zuccini and corn and all that goodness. I threw this little number together for lunch today. A true Pizza Margherita does not have zuccinni on it, but I had some and it looked yum. So here is my first attempt at a pizza Margherita. The first pic is before it is cooked and without the zuccinni. The bottom is all cooked with the zuccinni. It was delicioso.

Clara says it looks pretty but she is not going to eat it. Ally loved it.

When the cat's away

When Matt is gone on overnight call, we (us girls) like to find ways to entertain ourselves in the evening hours that does not include the TV, we save that for after dark. So, last night we baked. We had a bunch of overripe bananas and since my kids love to cook and love banana bread we decided that baking some bread would be a great idea. It takes alot of time (especially when the girls like to "help" so much) and there is a finished product that just might make my kids gain weight. But on top of that, while we were visiting Matt on his lunch break one of the residents had some pumpkin pie which is another of Clara's all time favorites. So, we made pie crust, then banana bread then pumpkin pie and in between I made dinner. The poor stove thought it was the holidays already, it was on for hours. But, we passed the night in relatively good moods and didn't miss daddy too much. Thank goodness for sugar and Wall-E.

Ally Bugs

The other day I noticed Ally's diaper lying on the floor about ten feet from her behind. I asked her what is was doing lying on the floor. Her comment: " I don't know mommy, I think it's just a stupid diaper," meanwhile, shoving copious amounts of top ramen into her mouth, 85% of which landed on the floor.

She is right, it is a stupid diaper. I cheaped out on the diapers this month ( a move I always regret) an bought the walmart brand diaper. They kept falling off and i kept saying how stupid those diapers were and how I shouldn't have bought them. These kids really listen when they want to, but only when they want to. I should probably stop saying the word stupid when my kids are around.

computer help

Can someone tell me how to make it so my family and friends list posts when they posted last so I don't have to go through the whole list to see who updated? I've seen this on several of your blogs and I would love to have that.
thanks

Rain Rain Go Away

One of our favorite things about our house is the yard, the back is very large. Not fun to mow, but really good exercise. The weather here has been spectacular, probably the most pleasant temps I have ever experienced in the summer before. But with that comes rain........
There was a whopper of a thunderstorm here this morning. It only lasted about an hour but it dumped a ton of rain and the thunder was deafening. I love midwest storms. The rain literally falls in sheets. Here is what our backyard looked like after about 15 minutes of very heavy rain. Thank goodness for the drain in the backyard.

Clara and I took advantage of the puddles and went and ran through them until the lightening came back. Tons of fun!
This is my friend Tabitha's yard, this river goes from the back of her house, down the side and into the street. If you stand in it, it is above my ankles.

The inside edition

I have been asked more than once to post pics of the inside of our house so here are a few but mostly I am showcasing some great deals on home decor at Hobby Lobby (Mandy these are mostly for you) and even though it wasn't something I would normally buy I just couldn't pass them up. I mean $3.00 is a great price for a little extra oomph to your room. This one is in the master bath, there is a matching one on the other side of the sink. THere is a pair of these on the paino in the family room. The walls are bare in here but I hope to get up the family pics we got taken a few months ago. Now I have somthing to match frames to.... These were $3.50, the ones above were 3.00 and the candle were buy one get one free...
So that is my great deal for the month. Love great deals.
This flower plate I picked up at Hobby Lobby in Des Moines when we went there for graduation...

I thought it would look cute with the flower wall plaques Matt got me a few years ago in Pella, IA during Tulip Festival.
THis is a random pot I picked up at a garage sale and got some flowers for it, I am not sure about this one but it's in the kitchen on the top of the cupboards so it's not that noticable.

It took us two months but we finally decided on some living room furniture. It's very cozy which is great since I just spent two nights on it with Ally while she was up every hour crying about her throat. It fits well and the colors work pretty well with the exisiting paint.

Now I need to work on some stuff for the walls, they are a very bare. Anyway, I didn't show much of the house but I just lost my memory card (and the house is kinda messy) so hopefully I will get the rest later.

Following in Grandma's footsteps

My Grandma Weaver was famous at the Morgan County Fair. I don't know how many times she got that big purple sweepstakes ribbon at the fair. I think she finally quit submitting just to give others a chance. Well, I have finally made baby steps in following in her prestigious sfootsteps. Our ward activity this month was an old fashioned county fair and they had a blue ribbon baking contest and yours truly won first place in the pie division (out of a whopping four pies) for my amish raspberry cream pie. I might even hang it next to Matt's diploma from Med school.

It's a great pie and if anyone wants to recipe let me know and I'll tell you where to find it or I will send it to you. Have a great day!

The computer is back!

The computer has been in the "shop" since we moved here so I've have been a little technologically impaired the last few weeks. It has been almost two weeks since we moved into the new house and we love it! Matt's is doing orientation right now so he is around quite a bit for a month or two, which is nice since his first rotation is a really time consuming one.
SO here's a good story for you. The girls and I were at Panera today having lunch (Clara LOVES bakeries) and Clara was munching away on her sweet roll while I was talking to Ally. I look over at Clara and she is kinda rocking over her plate but now making any sound. I look at her for a second before I realize she is choking. I stand up and smack her on the back but nothing happens, she is trying to breath but can't get much of anything in. So, I grab her and give her the hiemlech twice and she chucks up a big ole piece of sweet roll. She just continues to eat like nothing happened, (mind you, I did all this without freaking out because I didn't want to freak her out) while I sit down to try to eat and am shaking so bad I can barely stab my lettuce with my fork. Sheesh. Never good to see your kid struggling to breath. I was afraid I had made a spectical of myself in the store but no one even seemed to notice!
Anyway, we love Nebraska so far! Everyone has been so nice to us and we have made some good friends so far. There is a little girl who lives next door and her and Clara would love to be inseperable but there is such thing as meal time and nap time and such. Her name is Grace and she has a two year old brother named Ethan that Ally kinda pals around with. Those two have some funny converstations together.
The weather is hot and humid!!!! But at least the rain has finally stopped. We miss our families and our friends in Idaho Falls, but we are doing well and I hope to post some pics soon!
